Quilt Patterns by Jo Ann Woods, Little Wheeler Quilts

Hi, my name is Jo Ann Woods and I am the designer of Little Wheeler Quilts, named after my 8 year old grandson Alex, who is a little wheeler…he is physically disabled and is in a wheelchair!

I started sewing clothes at the age of 13 and my desire to create with fabric has never ceased! I made my first quilt in 1973. I had no idea how to make a quilt or that the fabric preference of quilters was cotton or that there was a choice when it came to batting.  I just knew that I wanted to make one after seeing one in a magazine. I had never been around quilters growing up and I absolutely just had to have one. Back then, quilt shops were rare, not to mention a quilt class, so I decided to self-teach myself. My love affair with fabric began!

Since then I have obtained an AA degree in Fashion Design and an Adult Ed Teaching Credential in Textiles.  I am currently studying to become a quilt appraiser. I love teaching beginner quilt classes, especially to kids. My hand-quilting service, Quilts by Jo Ann, has been keeping me busy for 12 years now. I love to finish old quilt tops and wonder who made it.
