Alison Vandertang
Alison Vandertang, like many quilt designers, grew up watching her mom sew. As a kid, she made a lot of clothes for her Barbie (which she still has). Currently, Alison knits, crochets, embroiders, sews and, of course, quilts. One of her latest passions is making dresses for Dress a Girl Around the World. Early on, Fashion Merchandising was Alison's major in college. She was a Store Manager for Lane Bryant. Her carrier path took a turn and she worked for the Postal Service for 32 years and retired as a Postmaster in 2009. Alison still shares her quilt designs with QuiltWoman. When not crafting, Alison and her husband are avid gardeners. Alison spends a good deal of time canning all their fruits and vegetables that they grow. Alison has a beautiful family, son, Mark, daughter in law, Heather and 4 great grandchildren. |
