Humbug Bag is a twisted tote that makes a perfect "little something" gift--for teachers, grandkids, neighbors, babysitters, etc. The shape is based on a traditional 19th century English candy, from which the bag takes its name. These are exceptionally quick, easy, and fun to make (make one in less than an hour).

This is a terrific pattern for someone just learning to quilt... but great, too, for experienced quilters who just can't seem to find time to work on a "real" quilt but crave a quick quilting fix! This small project also makes a great canvas for embroiderers and beaders to practice their skills.

Your "something extra" with this pattern: A sheet of gift tags, ready to photocopy. Simply cut them apart and sign to give your gift a very professional polish.

Three sizes are included.

This pattern is for personal use. If you wish to produce Humbug (TM) Bags for sale, please contact us for information regarding a commercial license.

Great Pattern
At first, I thought hmmm, kinda pricey for a simple pattern. But there are a few pitfalls to making these bags so having the steps right there are great. The pattern is high quality and very clear instructions. The sheet for the tags is great too but I'm still mastering printing them two sided (LOL). These are so much fun to make and the possibilities are endless. Highly recommend.

Love Humbugs!!!
I made my first humbug bag in 2007. I used it as a makeup bag Since then I've made many sets of 3-nested. I like to embellish with cute zipper charms. I always make the handles long enough to fit on a door knob - and I make the handles out of the same fabrics using a bias tape maker! Often times I use a "serious" or pretty fabric on the outside and an outrageous or fun fabric on the inside - isn't that how we all are? These are quick, easy and beautiful as gifts but make the first ones for yourself - you deserve it! Paris in New England USA

Easy to make
I have made many of these bags. They are easy to make, fast to make, and fun to give. I would definitely recommend this pattern.
