"Ohh, My" was my first reaction when I saw the "Memories of Mondrian" quilt in the Thangles booth at Quilt Market. The creators of Thangles, MB and Patrick Hayes graciously allowed me to re-create my own version of that quilt in these beautiful fabrics be Dena designs for Free Spirit.
We upped the graphic impact by the use of two colors with white and made the blocks much larger than the original quilt. This allos lots of open space for contemporary quilting.
We use the same T-Log construction: it speeds up construction, manages the bias edges and just works great!
Our pattern includes clear graphics, a practice exercise to achieve that perfect, scant 1/4" seam and the secret to "Well-behaved Borders".
We suggest the use of white batting to keep the colors true when quilting.Â
